Online Learning - Course Requirements
The one-on-one environment of an online learning experience streamlines the time involved in studying. A student should expect to spend 45 minutes per day, five days a week for each course.

Most courses are based on a 36 week schedule. Students may progress at their own pace.Upon enrollment into theclass, the student has one calendar year to complete all courses assigned.
Roles and Responsibilities
The teacher's role is critical to the online learning experience that a student will receive. Teacher are available to not only answer questions, but encourage the development of independent projects. Not only will the instructor mentor each student, but monitor his/her progress and readjust expectations as appropriate. Teachers will correct and give feedback for all work.

Students may email, fax, or participate in online discussions. Teachers make contact with students at least once a week.
Assessment
The Bradenton Preparatory Academy Online Curriculum allows a variety of assessments to monitor content understanding and the ability to reteach those concepts not mastered. Students should expect to write essays take conventional quizzes and tests and complete research papers. However, equally as important are the powerpoints, webquests, and other projects that include both convergent and divergent thinking to exercise both cognitive modalities. Project based learning is valuable component of most classes.
Progress reports
Students and parents will receive a monthly report for each course taken which will include a profile of the student's mastery of the material. Please note that such reports are done for a general understanding of the student's status, but do not take the place of academic warning notices that a parent and student will receive immediately when a student falls below a 2.5 in any course or fails to turn in any work for an agreed upon deadline.

All reports are sent in an email. Parents are responsible for maintaining a current account and notifying the Guidance Center of any changes.
